[Live Q&A] - How the Extended Workforce fits into your journey with Workday
Join us on Dec. 10 at 10a PT /1p ET for a casual conversation on continuously evolving Workday to meet your talent and contingent workforce strategies with Workday Advisory Partners, Helios Consulting.
Your organization has deployed Workday, but your talent strategies are constantly changing to the needs of the workforce. In this conversation, Charley Opstad and Trevor Lee, Workday Advisory Partners at Helios Consulting, will share how your organization can adapt Workday as you evolve.
They will dive into what Workday’s focus is and the need to interweave solutions from the Workday ecosystem rather than building multiple siloed systems. Specifically, they will focus on how contingent workers, contractors, and SOW-based workers fit into the Workday ecosystem.
Charley and Trevor will also explain why leadership needs to take a key role in envisioning how their HR technology stack evolves to the organization’s needs over time. While this may mean more change management, a big picture view can deliver higher returns and leverage existing processes or systems.
Below are a few questions that host, Erika Novak, Head of Client Services at Utmost, plans to discuss:
- What is the role of Workday in your HR technology stack and other systems?
- What are some mistakes organizations make in evolving and building on top of Workday?
- How should you evolve Workday as your organization grows?
- How can you consider the extended workforce (e.g. contingent workers, SOW-based workers, contractors, etc.) in the Workday ecosystem?
- Why do you need a macro-view of your Workday and your HR technology systems?

Through his extensive experience and knowledge within the HR tech space, Charley has acquired a keen sense of how to connect the dots within an organization, seamlessly bringing together technologies and data that deliver optimized workforce solutions, enhanced user experiences, and business efficiencies.
Trevor is a Partner at Helios Consulting, a consultancy specializing in helping customers with their Workday Journey. Trevor has spent most of his career working on the client side of complex projects as they seek temporary expertise to run or rescue their project. For a while, Trevor did drift to the dark side and worked on the vendor side for a large German ERP vendor.
Trevor understands the value and workforce flexibility that contingent labor can provide, gaining experience in a diverse range of programs including business reform, legislative change, public health initiatives and IT programs; and using client resources, suppliers, partners, external vendors and industry groups to achieve success. He also has experience on the client and vendor side of the solutions companies have used to try gain visibility and maintain control over their contingent workforce.
